Default what size tires before a lift needed

Hello, I have a 2004 precedent golf cart. I only use this on the golf course. I was wondering what is the largest tire that can be put on the cart without using a lift. Thanks

Welcome to BGW!

Typically a tire with a 20" diameter will fit a non-lifted cart.

Thanks, I was looking at some 10" rims and wasn't sure. I am assuming 20" diameter is with the stock 8" rims.

Tire diameter and wheel diamater are mtually exclusive. You can buy 20" tires for 8 inch wheels, 10 inch wheels and probably 12 inch wheels. All will have different sidewall heights (aspect ratio).

I put 215/40-12 tires (12" rims) on mine. The tires measure just over 19"s tall. Rim offset can cause rub issues when turning. You'll want to stay close to the stock offset when picking rims. My rims are -20mm offset and work great.

A fascination with big rims and small sidewalls has left people with a real misunderstanding of tire sizes. Often I ask what size tires and the answer is 12s or 14s. These tires can be 18=25 inches tall.

20" tall tire is about the max... 20.5" is pushing it. Looking a little stuffed and may rub on some dips or ?

You're not gonna get 20" tires on the front of a Precedent without a 1" lift block. The rear would be fine if you used heavy duty rear springs.
