Default Ignition coil for 290/350

Is there a replacement coil for less than $85.00 , Generic or other brand?
Part # 21171-2207

eBay maybe. Coils don't fail often. Are you sure yours is bad?

It has been my experience, especially with electronics, that cheap is more expensive in the long run.

With certain parts on an engine I would only go OEM. The coil is one of those.

Feel free to search around online for a cheaper price on a coil, but stay with the O.E. (Kawasaki) part. The shop I work with replaces many coils and we won't install the aftermarket ones any more. Too many premature failures.

Hate to revive an old thread, but I ordered a new OEM ignition coil for my 09 Club car with the 350 engine (part 21171-2266). My cart starts and runs fine for about 5 - 10 min, then once it is warm, it won't start until it cools down. Thinking it's a bad ignition coil (hoping).

Question -- where on the engine is the ignition coil located? Trying to determine if I need to take apart the entire rear of the cart, or if I can Jimmy my way to it through the seat access or back panel.

Any help is appreciated.

The coil is on the flywheel side of the engine under the fan shroud.

I have tried getting to it with the engine in the cart but it isnt easy. I find it less frustrating to just pull the engine out. Plus that gives me the chance to do some other maintenance.

It might be a possibility that it may be a failing rev limiter, It's on the lower front of the engine,
remove the ground wire from the left mounting bolt and see if it still stalls!
