Re: Help with dateing this EZGO cart
Yea, it's not an 81. Maybe a 91?
I think it's a 2 stroke Marathon, which was from like 89 - 90 or 91?? |

Re: Help with dateing this EZGO cart
Thats not the right number, Should be another number under or above it, Call a manufactures number, However it is in the 88-94ish range 88 was the last year of the 2pg 2 stroke, engine sat so the crankshaft ran front to back of cart, 89 was the 3pg engine crank ran parallel with rear axle.

Re: Help with dateing this EZGO cart
that is a nice clean 88 or earlier marathon. could be a hybrid? they went from a 2pg (laying down cyl) to a 3pg (upright cyl) in 89. not sure on the front trim tho. it was also changed about the same time. this is an 89

Re: Help with dateing this EZGO cart
I didn't look at all the pictures. You have an 88. That was the first year they put the plastic cowl on and from the photo you have a 2 pg 2 cycle engine. The driven clutch runs on the front of the differental the same as a cars drive shaft would. In 1989 the driven clutch comes out the side of the diff. I have both an 88 and 89 sitting here. The 89 will have a 3 pg with the head and sparkplug pointing up, tho the plug is at an angle on an 89. The plug is straight on an 88
