Re: Got a new 84 EZGO Today
Well took the wife out in it since I thought it was pretty safe to ride but I guess I was wrong the thing caught fire. It's smoldering to a crisp now :(......the seat insulation that is haha. I was going to have to have another one made now sooner than later. I was thinking about using inch thick Lexan for the backing so it is more waterproof than the wood and will allow me to monitor things while the cart is running sometimes. I have a lady that will cut me a deal :). What about the covering though? Whats the best waterproof cover? Does someone make replacement slip on covers? I have done the leather in my car seats and it is quite a good option value wise. Just having a custom pillow with velcro to lay on the Lexan would be nice and a zippered cover would allow easy changeability.

Re: Got a new 84 EZGO Today
I just cut new foam and new plywood backing today. I re-used the one under the drivers seat. If you have "Joann Fabrics" in your area they have all you need (but the plywood). I picked up marine grade vinyl and high density foam this morning and it was all on sale.

What about a gas gauge? Has anybody rigged up a sending unit and gas gauge?

Re: Got a new 84 EZGO Today
Ya my dad had about the same gauge on his old Dixon.
So tooling around last night I managed to loosen the Starter/Gen belt and it started slipping. Come to find out I think I have a broken bracket under the S/G is this normal? I tightened the belt by loosening the bolts on top and lifting up on the S/G and then tightening them down too unheard of torque which fixed the problem for now but it doesn't sit to well with me as the seat could push it back down. Does anybody make a new bracket or have you guys just shoved something under the S/G to keep it from falling? Or do I get a shorter belt? |
