Default Gear Questions????

I stripped a rear hub the other day and decided to make this the "reason" to go to high speed gears. I removed the rear end (I know I didn't have to remove the whole thing) but I wanted to clean up the mess from the spewing governor shaft. Anyhow which gears do I replace and how do I know what gears I have in it. It is a built 96 ezgo cart from Strech Plastics 24 hp honda and all. So I don't know it's history other than I installed a short belt last year.

BTW I am still deciding on what gearing to go to. I get 26 MPH of the cart in my avatar. I have over inflated 22 inch tires turning 4100 RPM. I use this cart 90% on road and 8% in the yard the other 2% is used to move jetski trailers at my shop. I only move the trailers on a semi flat driveway 200 feet at the most. Thanks for the info.

Here are some pictures with some questions..
Picture 1 are the marked gears the ones I am going to change? And the gear ratio is 16-62
Picture 2 I think I know where this bearing goes but I want to make sure. Is this the keeper for the shifting rod? The wrench is for size reference.

Yes the ball is for the detent for fwd and rev. with out this ball it want stay on gear. there should be a bolt on the trans axle that doesnt have anything to do with the check plug or bolting it together. Put that ball in after the trans is assembled. Iv'e got a set of stock gears and ill count the teeth for you.

The stock gears I have count 62-16 so yours are stock 13 to 1 gears.
