Default POLL: What gas/oil ratio do you use in your G1?

I would like to take a poll....am I allowed to start one of these? I've seen anywhere from 32:1 to 150:1 ratios.....

What ratio do you use?

What oil do you use?

That's kinda what I do, I put more oil in it if I'm going to pull a trailer or push snow. I also run premium, but I can't get "alcohol free" gasoline anywhere around here, so I use a "stabil" type product that neutralizes the effects on aluminum.

If you read the find print when you bay outboard motors and generators they all say to use a 91or92 or some close to that. so using premium gas to is what you should be using. I have heard the statement about being to hot to burn for alum. the next time you go to big box stoat look for the motor section
chain saws, generator and weadwackers . take the time an read over the instruction on fuel that should be used is in 90> oct. In the 1960's all we wood run in are 305 Honda was premium. the trick is in the mix.

The book says it should be 128:1. To simplify matters, I use 100:1.

Adding octane actually makes the burn cooler.

I use Echo oil, as in Echo brand weed trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc. Home Depot has it. It's a synthetic blend. I've tried full synthetics and they want you to mix the oil one way, meaning the same ratio for everything. Optiplex is the brand of the synthetic I've used. Both very good oils with low smoke.
