Default G1A carb fitting

On my '79 G1A there is a fitting on the driver's side of the carburetor, at the top, and it is a 90-degree hose fitting. There is a short hose on it that goes nowhere. Is that correct? I bought this cart used and the previous owner had replaced the carb and I can't find anything about this connection in the service manual.
