Question Wheel Studs

I was out riding my cart today and one of my rear wheels worked itself loose. All four lug nuts had backed off significantly and the wheel was riding loosely on the studs for an hour or so. So all 4 studs have the threads worn off where the wheel holes rode on them. I must have not tightened them down all the way last time I had them off. I can tighten the lug nuts back down but I think they're not grabbing as much threads as before since part of the threads are worn off (with part of the nut being over the worn area when re-tightened).

The lug holes in the wheels seem to not have been affected much.

Is there an automotive equivalent wheel stud I can get down at the auto parts store or am I stuck buying them online from a cart supplier? Was wanting to fix this tomorrow.

I'm now looking for wheel studs from all the online cart suppliers and am coming up empty. Doesn't seem like a part that should be hard to find.

Thanks, but $11.99 for one stud...dang. But good to know it's there as a last resort. I'm going to research your Nissan Pathfinder studs equivalency theory...

knock out one of the studs you have and take it to the auto store, make sure the splines part on the new stud is just a hair bigger/fatter than the one you hook out, so when you beat it back in it will not spin in the hub

I actually did that earlier today, except for the "splines part just a hair bigger" advice.

Took one stud into the auto parts store, parts guy had me come around back behind the counter and we went through bins of wheel studs. Found what looked like a match. But when I got back to the cart and stuck the stud in...like you said...it spun in the hole.

yeah i did the same thing when i needed some, i must of went through 20 of them, you have to take a micrometer to make sure it's a hair bigger, or if you don't have a mic, you can use an adjustable wrench, that's what i used, works great.

CTD that stud in your link is 7/16"x20 thread. I do know that the stock studs are 1/2"x20.

It looks like the Pathfinder studs may work, but they're metric, so I'd have to get new lug nuts, furthermore making one wheel metric and the other three standard...which could be an annoyance later on.
