G1 runs reverse, not forward
Hey guys, I've encountered a problem I've never had until recently.
A little background first: New top end 2 years ago, New crank seals about a year ago. Cart has run flawless since with no issues, Saturday, I stopped the cart to walk around a few minutes and when I tried to go forward again, All I get was a click each time I hit the pedal. It would run in reverse, but no forward. So I drive it back to the campsite in reverse (about 1/4 mile) and it ran in forward no issues. Again, today, same issue. The solenoids are really warm to the touch, but I'm not sure if they always are or not. Any ideas? |

Re: G1 runs reverse, not forward
Have you checked the connections where the large cables attach to the solenoids?

Re: G1 runs reverse, not forward
I haven't cleaned any connections yet. I was really concerned that the solenoids were going bad as they are getting warm. Do they normally get warm after driving for a period of time?

Re: G1 runs reverse, not forward
The ones on my old G1 would get warm.
It could be that the connections are loose, or dirty. Also, the contacts inside the solenoid could be going bad. |

Re: G1 runs reverse, not forward
After letting it sit and cool, it runs fine. I'm guessing new solenoids are in my future.

Bad connection = warm sillynoid . Check & clean all your connections & should be alright! Hope this helps.

Re: G1 runs reverse, not forward
I had this problem with my G1 and cleaning the key switch with electrical contact cleaner resolved the issue. Start with the key and work your way through the connections and you should be fine.

Re: G1 runs reverse, not forward
Key switch is new, replaced it about 8 weeks ago. I went ahead and ordered the solenoids, Ill clean the old ones first and see if it fixes the issue. Otherwise, I'll have a spare set ready to go.
