Re: Uphill RPMs
Cut secondary sheave, umax spring, aftermarket spring, 1 1/4 belt or HD kevlar one from cpp, check tension cable tighten if you need to but will lose top speed too tight or if you get wrong aftermarket spring in it.

Re: Uphill RPMs
I bought mine from tnt, any yamaha dealer should have one. Here is the number in this thread:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...tml#post842506 Tension cable is under the gen pulley. It holds the engine mount from moving towards the transmission under heavy loads/high throttle. Movement screws up your shifting in the cvt, will make it bog. The cable can break and then you get bogging on hills. It has nuts on it to adjust. Get on TNT golf cart site under yamaha parts they have a parts book listing that shows it so you can see it. If this link works it shows the cable. They been having problems with their site though so call them if you can, if you order there. I should add a worn belt also works poorly for hills and takeoff. Yamaha says 1" wide is time to replace, but it will bog before that on a lifted cart. |

Re: Uphill RPMs
The things I listed will help, up to you what ones you use. I just put a cut secondary sheave, umax spring, new helix (spring seat, the new style with larger pads), a spacer for behind it, new nut. I like how it works even though I have a clone in the cart now, it would have worked nice with stock engine. I put a cut sheave alone on another cart it helped a lot for 5mph and less things like towing and hills. I like it also because the engine reaches full rpm faster at takeoff, that helps everything. It gives you a lower first gear so to speak. A wider belt will also do that some.
