g1 clutch springs
I have been trying to get my 85 g1 so it does engage so abruptly and about jerk your head off. Taken apart the primary clutch lubed have everything moving easily there. Tried a new belt and still haven't gotten it to take off smoothly. My question is if the springs are wore out would that make it engage so abruptly like this? It is better than before after getting all the parts lubed but far from perfect. Maybe this is some what normal for these old carts I don't know.

Is your secondary clutch closing all the way to push the belt to its outer diameter?

Not quite all the way to the edge. Maybe quarter of an inch from the edge.
