Default What drive clutch is this?

I'm a new owner and looking for drive clutch info. Is this a comet clutch pictured? The cart is a 96 g16. I've disassembled and found what appears to be a new spring. I cleaned everything and reassembled. As the rpm's increase the drive clutch makes a clattering noise. I cannot locate a diagram to ensure the weights are properly installed. I installed with long smooth side down? Any help would be great.

That looks like a Comets 94C, and it looks like it should use the ribbed pucks. They should all align in a "triangle" shape equidistant from each other and should be the same weights in each of the "triangles" (if you have more than three weights.

See if the attachment works for you. If not maybe I can get one of the mods to post it......

Thanks for the reply and the PDF. I will tear down again this weekend. Belt width is something I didn't consider but with the info you have provided I'm much better prepared.

That's a 94c copy. CPP sells them, I just got one a few weeks ago. It's just like mine. I'd say you have a puck problem. There just isn't that much to go wrong with these clutches. Hopefully you have the removal tools? I spent a few bucks on fleabay for mine, well worth the money, they work great.

What color spring is in there? Also, post some pics of which pucks you have, there are all different weights, etc. And yes, if they aren't arranged and/or installed properly, they will chatter.....learned that the hard way. Luckily you can't really damage these clutches.
