Yamaha g16 only runs full throttle

i hava a g16 that has a new carb,fuel pump,ff,and it will only run with the throttle wide open,if you back off the throttle it dies, and the only way to crank it is to spray the carb with carb spray to get it to crank up and run. any ideas would be very helpful. thanks

Pull the carb and blow out all of the internal jets and holes. New doesn't always mean clean.
also, check valve clearance while you're at it.

the valve clerance is good. i will pull carb back off and blow it out. let you know how it works out. thanks for a quick response

It might be something simple as a low throttle stop adjustment. Or idle mixture adjustment.

Good call, I went right past checking the basics first.

With key off, check the operation of your throttle linkake, including ckecking the bufferfly inside the cart.
then low speed circuit and jets in carb.

Are you trying to start it with no elbow, airbox or filter? Mine doesnt like to run unless everything is in place.

I have tried to run it both ways. it will not crank until you give it a shot of carb cleaner and then it will run at full throttle only.

You're only option I think is pull carb and clean the low speed circuit.

i have taken the carb back off and took it all aprt and blew it out and all passages are clean. if you hold the gas pedal down a little just as the engines starts to spin over and shot it with carb cleaner and it will crank and then die so that tells me that my problem is not a spark problem but i am out of ideas.
