Project CC 1997 DS A9728-585119
I purchased yard keep buggie to rebuild with my son. I know just enough to get myself in trouble but I do have a mechanical background (aircraft maintenance). So that being said the whole drive system is shot and I am wanting to strip it down and build completely back. I have already purchased a new wiring harness 39000. That being said I want a high torque motor but not sure about the rest. I'm confused when it comes to the potentiometer, solenoid, F/R switch, obc and controller which I think I can salvage all except the controller and motor? Not sure that's where I need help. Any thought or experience will be helpful. And go....

Re: Project CC 1997 DS A9728-585119
fun, Fun. FUN! That would be a Regen 1 cart and is one of CC's early problem childs that was quickly done away with (we are having a run on these this week!!) Hopefully you do not have the Black "T" shaped controller. Hopefully the harness you bought is an IQ harness so you can upgrade to modern (replaceable) parts.

Re: Project CC 1997 DS A9728-585119
Read over this thread to catch up https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=170092 and hopefully yours may be a Regen-2 (it will have a Run/Tow switch under the seat) or you bought an IQ harness. Or maybe it has already had updates as per the 2004 sticker.... You will understand more when you read the referenced thread.

Re: Project CC 1997 DS A9728-585119
Thanks for the link I'll check it out. I bought from buggies unlimited the WIRE HARNESS FOR CC 48V 96-2000 REG TO IQ CONVERSION. Thinks that's the one I keep reading about. I didn't see a tow switch under the seat but I bought the cart not running. My thought is to replace the whole drive train if you will. Controller solenoid and motor.

Do yourself a favor and deal with Revolution or Carts Unlimited (Scottyb). When you run into a problem, you can actually call them for help and get it.
Start spraying those bolts with PB Blaster now, so they'll be nice and saturated by the time comes to take them out. :D Welcome to the forum, looks like a great project. |

Re: Project CC 1997 DS A9728-585119
I am not sure of the harness as it should just be an IQ harness. You remove yours and replace it with a CC OEM IQ harness. Works perfectly with the new items you mentioned.
Call David Hicks at Revolution Golf Cars 706-431-3917. He can price you out a package deal and give you any needed parts for the conversion. |

Re: Project CC 1997 DS A9728-585119
Does not look like any I have used but when I say I upgrade, I actually go with the IQ DS harness that will fit in any DS and works with the IQ/MCOR. I do not use aftermarket when I purchase a harness.

Re: Project CC 1997 DS A9728-585119
Wakko47 thanks for the advise. Sprayed down all the bolts with some PB Blaster to remove the front and rear end. Today I will remove them to prep for the lift kit.
