That is going into a 95 Medalist that my son and I are rebuilding but the same setup could be installed in ANY series motor cart.

no, no "kit" just a grouping of parts I gathered together.

Parts list (up to 500 AMP controller):

Controller (your choice)
White Rodgers 586 HD solenoid (4 pole)
White Rodgers 586 HD solenoid (6 pole) x2
3 position rocker switch (on-off-on)
250 Amp ANN fuse and fuse holder
approximately 3 feet of #4 welding cable and assorted cable ends.

If controller desired is over 500 AMPS:

replace 4 pole solenoid with MZJ-400
replace 250 Amp fuse with 400 Amp fuse
replace #4 wire with #2 welding wire (use copper lug ends)

If you are using a GE controller and the cart is an E-Z-GO TXT don't forget the Throttle converter.

Also, I am going to modify the existing setup tomorrow to incorporate Copper Buss Bars in place of some of the wiring (I am going to use 1/2" Hard copper tubing flattened in a vise for this) just to clean up the install some. I'll post pics when completed.

would it be cost effective to do this on a stock 05 txt(to get wild later). The wife has trouble with the F/R switch as it is and this looks like it would be a whole bunch easer for her to use

It was designed for people that have arthritis (like me) and have issues with rotating the stock F&R handle on an E-Z-GO, so I would say YES, it is well worth doing. Whether you ever get wild with the car or not is not the issue. Ease of operation is the biggest factor, and if your wife enjoys driving but has issues with shifting the gear selector, this is the best solution (short of buying a different cart).

I think i will have to look into this. She enjoys her cart emensely. Since I got it for her about 8 months ago she has been tooling around our 5 acrs like a mad woman She says she has gotten to places with it that untill we got it she could not go becouse it was to far/steep/etc to get to.

Thanks for the input

Rabbit, love this design. Have you ever tried any higher amp 6 pole solenoids (do they make them) to make the new F/R setup? How about the medalist, what kind of motor will it be using to go along with this setup in the pictures?

MZJ actually offers a Reversing contactor in the 400 AMP cont. rating but I personally can never find anyone that has them in stock, so I stick with the tried and true WR 586's and I have never had one fail yet.

I am pairing this setup to a D394 motor that peaks at 8HP on 36 volt and just under 12 HP on 48 volt. It's a pure torque setup for this build, but I have done it with many different types of motors, including stock motors.
