Default G5 sun classic always turns over

Friend brought​ me a g5 it continuously turns over regardless of key position and throttle position only way to stop it is unhook the battery that being said checked microswitch at peddle it checked out and so did starter solenoid does this mean voltage regulator is junk?

Also get twelve volts to solenoid "signal wires" all time but if I unhook voltage regulator it stops

Without knowing that specific cart, to my knowledge VRs only serve to keep the starter / gens in check by making sure they aren't putting putting out too much current to hurt things while allowing enough to keep the battery charged. I don't know any of them to have anything to do with the starter circuit but, again, I don't that cart.

I actually would start with the key switch or the wiring associated with it.

I'd agree with you on other carts but this one is a little unique compared to other Yamaha's has six pins coming out of voltage regulator one of witch is a signal wire to activate the starter solenoid

Yes, on a G5-a the starting circuit does run thru the AVR. As I recall, CGtech had a wireing diagram to install a standard AVR, like out of a G16-a.

Yes he did small block I found that just wanted to make sure before I ordered a new voltage regulator v
