So with all this “tuning” what kind of range are you guys getting?

You should just be able to safe the text as a *.neos file, then when connected to your cart:
  1. Read in your cart's parameters
  2. Load the *.neos file
  3. Look in the software for fields highlighted in RED to see differences

Just don't save/write it to your cart unless you want to replace all of your settings.

I'm not sure if I have the 5kw motor, but I thought they came with the same motor, no?

Yup, San Diego.
The metal cart bade by the pedals should tell you the motor. Most are 4kw but was told by Terry on FB group that they did start assembly 5kw motor carts for certain areas like California where there are more inclines and grades that the additional KW would be beneficial for. Still runs a 48V pack so Im sure range is less but youre able to climb a grade better with a load.

I have a 4kw and in South Florida that's plenty. Biggest hill Ill go over is a speed bump.

Ill check out your latest profile. Def interested in seeing if there are differences and if so what. Also interested in doing some monitoring on cart and seeing what actual RPMs Im spinning at what speeds.

**** I have a 4kw I60L. Wish it had the 5kw. Mine still performs pretty decent, but hills can be a problem. I'm not in a super hilly area though, but there are a bunch around me.

Something that can help increase the torque/uphill speed would be awesome! We have quite a few hills here in San Diego and it can be a bit of a process going up sometimes.

So the program fires up but it doesn't seem to be communicating with the cart. The green light inside of the transparent blue CANUSB unit quickly flashes when it's plugged but then goes off. I only copied the .dll file mentioned in the post. Was I supposed to copy the .lib file as well? Any suggestions?

They key is to the on position when I try. I'm thinking maybe the molex connections? I took care to strip them properly and make sure they're seated in the connector. As I understand all of the drivers needed are within the CANUSB unit so I don't think it's that.

It's likely the CANUSB drivers did not automatically download from windows and you can just manually install them yourself.

On Windows 10, with the CANBUS plugged into your computer, open the start menu and search "device manager", and you will likely see a section in the middle called "Other devices" and it will probably be the CANUSB thing.

That DLL you moved from that folder ALSO contains drivers for the CANUSB (in addition to the DLL). We will install those drivers, so make sure you have that file/folder downloaded.

These next steps are tricky, so make sure you don't get down the wrong decision tree. It's also semi-from-memory so you may have a slightly different option to choose.
  1. Right click on it, click Update driver
  2. Choose "Browse my computer for drivres"
  3. Choose "Let me pick from a list of available drivers...
  4. Choose "Have Disk"
  5. Choose Browse
  6. Select the folder/file (*.inf file) of the drivers you downloaded and click "ok"
  7. This will probably say the driver is signed and have a little row there loaded of the driver and you click "finish" or something.
  8. NOW your CANUSB thing should have a slightly different color light pattern and the software will recognize the cart (with the key on).
