![]() Correct... wheels will spin only slow with the 12v and don't forget to have them off the ground.

![]() Ok so nothing happened, the motor is stuffed by the looks...
Now i live in Australia so my options will be limited as all i can find here is the standard Hitachi motor as a replacement option. This cart has a Navitas controller...I read here on other posts the the Hitachi is a poor choice of motor to use....What do you guys recommend as a better motor to go with 440a Navitas controller? Many thanks . |

![]() You could pull the motor off, probably only the brushes are worn out or stuck. Cheap fix!

![]() Pull it apart and inspect the brushes and commutator. The brushes are probably worn down and the commutator is probably damaged but it can be cleaned up. If you don't do this yourself, find an electric motor shop to do it for you. Much cheaper than a new motor. If you go for a new motor, stay away from the stock Hitachi and go with a more robust aftermarket motor.

Ok i have pulled the motor out and it clean ...so its been apart before...The armature spins really freely with no sound of rubbing from the brushes at all, if i push the back of the brushes it slows the spinning considerably ...Ill post some pics .. Not sure what the commutator is or looks like?..Ok i just googled it lol...thats the end where the brushes run...Well this one is black and all scared i guess you would call it.. ![]() ![]() |

![]() Those brushes are worn down to almost nothing. I can't see the commutator but if it's not too bad you can clean it up with sandpaper and / or a file. A motor shop can "Turn" it for you which is the proper way to clean it up. Then you replace the brushes and you should be back in business. Otherwise, it's time for a new motor.

![]() k,so I have pulled it apart like you have said Fellas....The brushes stay back when pushed back into the frame...They need a good clean or replacement id recon...getting them down here is a issue as all the listings i can find are in the States....How bad is that commutator compared to the one ojo posted.....Now to find some new brushes and sand that commutator back to some form of decency ...Many thx for the input fellas...Id be lost without you.
