How does this governor work?
My 88 has a lever style governor. Excuse my ignorance, but how does it work? It is not hooked up, hasn't since I have ever owned it. Just curious.

Re: How does this governor work?
as the driven clutch goes into higher gearing, the plastic cover (and that little button in the middle of it) move outwards. The lever (which is attached to the throttle on one end and in front of the clutch button on the other) gets pushed by the button at higher RPM's (speeds) and causes the throttle to be pulled back. If it's not hooked up, no big deal - it's not going to hurt anything and of course, that extra speed is a cool thing to have!
