Take the pedal bolt out and it comes out. I had that twice with mine it locked up. Took it out worked it out actually. Cleaned it good and greased it, install it works great. Year later does the same thing. This time comes out hard. I get angry, drill the pedal out larger now its not tight. Grease it up and put a new spring on also, works fine yet today years later. This was a G9.

I hate to revive an old old thread, but mine is broken too on a G8 Yamaha. Everything super rusty of course. What I can’t figure out is how to remove the pedal assembly from the cart I don’t see any bolts to remove other than the big bolt that’s rusted fast on the shaft where the spring wraps around. On this car I was able to remove the not the bolt turns but will not come out of the sleeves.

Looks like all it took was almost a full bottle of Benzo Matic to the rescue such a pita!

Those are the biggest pains, no room to work.
When I bought my G9 I had the same issue with the frozen bolt.
I had to cut the bolt on each side of the pedal to get it out then punch the bolt shaft out,
When I got the new bolt I drilled a 1/8" hole through the middle of the head half way down the shaft, then drilled in from the side into the first hole.
Then drilled the head again and drove a grease fitting in it.
Now it part of my yearly maintenance plan!!

Yeah when I drove my bolt out it was full of corrosion and rust. That is when I drilled it slightly larger and put grease in it. Well it holds more grease now I did that the first time but fit was tighter.
