Curious why would you want this? What is the situation where you cannot hold the gas pedal down to go?

Depending on what cart you have and why you want "cruise control" I have several methods that work well.

I have a setup I am working on for my brother in law who had a severe stroke last year and has very limited movement of his right leg and right arm. What I have so far will let the cart cruise at any speed under a preset limit, and release with a light touch of the brakes. I have several safety features including a lanyard kill switch and seat pressure switch. I am still working on it to improve safety. The setup is not cheep by any means.

If you have a real reason to need such a setup, Ill share what I have done so far.

Adjustable curtain rod. Adjust to desired length to get desired pedal depression and wedge between pedal and seat.

I'm sorry, I just had to do it. In all seriousness, Rev's method sounds by far the best.

You could also use a throttle lever such as lawn tractors use.
