G-9 fuel blues?
replaced all fuel lines, new fuel pump, cleaned carb, new plug, adjusted valves, 130 psi compression. Cleaned air filter. Cart runs ok on flats when it starts to climb a small hill the choke must be pulled to keep it going. I am at a loss. Any help much appreciated!!!

Re: G-9 fuel blues?
The air box must be completely sealed. make sure the lid is on correct.

Re: G-9 fuel blues?
plot thickens. With the air cleaner off and manually held throttle wide open runs better but back fires. What am I missing?

130 is low for compression.

Re: G-9 fuel blues?
I agree, the compression should be 155 to 175 lbs comp at wide open throttle. I also agree about the air box sealing. The lid maybe warped and the seal in the lid is deteriated beyond sealind, have to have good starps too. The backfiring could be caused by a carboned valve that is not closing all the way and that could lead to a low compression test also.

Re: G-9 fuel blues?
You can use some rubber tie down straps if you need too to shut the lid tight. Just run them over the top of the box and hook them under the box to the frame somewhere. I always had two on my G9. The factory rubber clips as I call them, are not very good at all and usually don't last long. And double check that your throttle is closing all the way when you let off the gas. Open throttle is usually a sign of backfiring on these. You may need to adjust the throttle cable a little.

Re: G-9 fuel blues?
Wanted to say thanks to you guys!! My compression tester line had a hole in it so I got a bad read. The actual reading was 170! Sealed up the air box with a bungee and it runs great!!! You guys are the best. I think a combination of the new fuel pump, lines cleaning the carb and sealing off the box it all came together!!!i
