Default G14 Ignition Coil

Hi Everyone,

New golf cart owner and have lots of questions. I have a 1995 G14 Gas that is a project. My problem is no spark and I have read all the forums and stickies.

I have installed a new key switch ( old one was broken )
Installed a new gas pedal kill switch ( don't know the name )
I installed a new coil.
I've tested power to the ignition coil that sits on the starter generator when I turn the key and when the gas pedal is pressed and I do have power.

Problem:
1) No spark at plug. So I dont know if the ignition coil is bad.
2) I'm having to jump the coil for the engine to turn over.

I've looked for a fuse and can't find one anywhere. I don't know if I should buy an entire wiring harness for the whole cart. G14 is incredibly hard to find parts for.

Any help, advice would be so appreciative.

The G14 has a pick up coil by the flywheel and a separate ignitor box on the bulkhead.Which did you change. The pick up coil is cheap the igniter box is not.

I changed this one. It sits right on top of the starter generator just below the carb.?
Does this help?

There are the 2 other components in the G14 ignition circuit. The pick up unit on the flywheel $125 and the ignitor on the bulkhead $250 +. Very expensive items and I don't know how to test which you need. Those were the first 2 items I sold on Ebay when I parted my G14 engine out when I swapped to a VC 460. There are some yamaha pros on this site hopefully they will ring in here.

Thanks for the info. How much does it cost to swap an engine? Is it rip and drop in or lots of mods needed?
