Default engine won't run

Bought g2 that smoked real bad. Since putting in new rings will not run. has 120psi compression, put on new carb, Seems to have good fire. What else could it be? How does idle shut off switch work? Don't see magnet or anything on flywheel to trigger spark. Any suggestions?

Engine cranks? Has spark? Throttle is opening when pedal pressed? No flywheel magnet, the gap in the skirt is the trigger.

Yes it turns over fine and acts like it wants to start, but just won't.

Have to checked to make sure it's getting fuel from the pump? I just rebuilt my G2 engine last weekend and it would not fire up unless the choke was pulled halfway out until I rejetted the carb. If you are not using the stock filter and exhaust you might want to rejet the carb. Also make sure you have spark maybe something isn't grounded properly.

Put a new plug in it they foul easily if something is amiss and always at the wrong time of course. Check for fuel, etc.
