Sheesh! Hate that way of learning, but you never forget the lesson. Now I have to figure out which year it is.

Hmmm.... Now I'm wondering if I will need to add a voltage regulator to install the light kit since it never had lights. Doesn't look like it has any 12v accessories at all.

For any normal amount of lights you have plenty of electrical power. I am running 4 led headlights, 4 led tail lights with trailer truck turn signals on my G14.

That is a G14 body (with the air box intake cover), but I have seen that body put onto a G16 or G22. Only a picture of the engine compartment could we be shure. If it is a gas car, run all 12 volt accessory leads back to the battery.

If the lamps are 12v and the battery puts out 13.5 - 14.2v, won't the lamps burn out quicker?

Sure, if you buy lamps designed for a car that never uses lights while it's driving or running . If it was designed for automotive use, it was designed for more than 12.00 volts, cars have charging systems too.

Halogen bulbs will take 16V and not blow. Most LEDS can be wired to 24V. Hense, low beam and high beam, 12V and 24V.
