Default G16 Sputtering

Got a 2002 g16 that has developed a sputtering problem at higher speed. Low to mid speed seems ok but past that it slows and starts sputtering . Cleaned the carb good and seems the pump is pushing plenty fuel , inline filter full. The gasket that goes from air filter housing to carb is torn some dont know if that would cause it seems more like a spark issue although havent tested yet. Suggestion on best place to start?

Gaskets. Should be 3 total. If is ripped, check the two behind that one also. They all could be torn or worn out.

Definitely would start with the gasket they don't like any extra air also put it in nuetral and run it wide open and make sure clutches are operating properly

They are really sensitive to air, any leak in the airbox even can cause that. (or any leak in the carb or intake)

Also notice a growling noise when driving then just goes away and quiet as can be.

My rebuid kit came with 3 gaskets but only found 2 when I took the carb off. I have 1 gasket between the carb/engine and another between the carb/air filter. Where does the 3rd gasket go?
