A transducer is part of a sonar set up. It sends out the "ping" or click and receives it back allowing the sonar unit to have a sonic image of what is below it and displays it on a graph, chart or LCR display.

Isn't a transducer part of a fish & depth finder?

Transponders are used in many different applications. Airplanes have them to send out a signal so radar can detect them in flight more accurately. Weapon systems use them. Many uses.

Hi everybody, I'm trying to determine if my On board computer (2001 DS 48V) went bad or if the charger (powerdrive 3) is damaged. I noticed we had a small power outage last night and today the charger is not charging...it clicks when I plug in the cart (relay) but doesn't power up and the ampmeter doesn't register anything. The battery pack reads 48V and the individual batteries are either 7.9 or 8v.
I have tested the sensor fuse and it is good and have checked the connections - all good.
The cart runs fine, no issues there, just the charging issue. Is there a way to take a reading from the cart receptacle that would be of any value?
Appreciate any help. Thanks!

First make sure the AC outlet has power.

If You have AC power, It could be the fuse on the back of the charger receptacle, item #6 below:

Thanks Sergio. Yep, Checked the AC and the sensor fuse and they both appear okay. In an act of desperation I checked the voltage of the cart receptacle and it was -35.8v (?).

Strike that! I checked #9 not #6 - I didn't realize that was actually a fuse....do I just pop the clear cover off to test it?

Also, I asked a neighbor if I could use his functioning PowerDrive 3 to test my cart and got the same result....click - no charge.

Thanks

Either pop the cover or measure the resistance between the posts where the fuse is connected, it should have continuity or 0Ω.

If the charger clicks, do you hear the transformer hum?
The “click” is the relay which allows AC power to the transformer. If the transformer Ian not getting power, there will be no hum, and thus no ammeter movement.
Check for power getting to the transformer before condemning the OBC. You could have a failed relay, failed circuit breaker, or just a poor connection of the AC wiring to the breaker, relay, or transformer.
