Default RXV beeps constantly

2009 RXV beeps in all positions except off. It has a bad brake but the coil is good. I apologize if I am not posting correctly. I am new at this and do not know how to go about it. I am guessing that is why I get none to very little response??? Thanks for any help!

If the brake is bad, and you want to fix the cart, then replace the brake. Use only OEM Ezgo standard duty brake. It's simple, rxvs get mad when the brake test fails.

Thank you Cgtech. My question was will it cause the constant beeping? I do not know yet what all could be wrong with it. I replaced the charging harness. The brake is probably next then what ?? Controller? Solenoid? Batteries? Cables?on and on? Just would like to find out what I’m up against before I spend a fortune on a money pit!!! Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I responded to your last post... Read what I posted there. cgtech is giving you solid advice. Here is the best source I've found, both in brake type and lowest cost. I do not know the seller but have bought from and so have others here...

Danahar RXVs with stock controllers (our rebuilds don't have the beeping symptom, aren't nearly as touchy with folks rocking in the seats during the self-test) will toss a 25107 park brake test failed error which makes the reverse beeper go beep beep beep until key is cycled OFF and back to FWD or REV.

25107 -- Brake slipping -- motor rotated during park brake test.

Can be either bad brake or just folks rocking in the seats when car switched on. I've seen it happen on hills too, and brake may or may not be the cause. Like I said, the rebuilt Danahars don't do this for some reason, and on Curtis doesn't happen at all.

This is probably a different issue, but I had a curtis controller do the same thing, replaced controller with new and cart worked fine (I have the old one boxed up to send to Bob for testing if I can ever get it to the PO). Anyway, someone had cut the reverse buzzer on this cart and spliced wires back together. This cart was also very slow.

Cutting the reverse beeper out of ANY RXV will render the car inoperable. The controller (both Danahar and Curtis) will check for a disconnected/shorted/bypassed/EOL reverse alarm.

In this case, buzzer was spliced back in, still got one long beep and cart ran very slowly. It will be interesting to see what Bob finds/does with it if I can ever get it to him.

With a Curtis controller you can turn the buzzer off then it doesn't come into play at start up.

Actually, even with the powerup testing of the reverse buzzer disabled, it will still affect testing and impact operation if it is removed.

Once the reverse buzzer driver is damaged from the reverse buzzer wire(s) being cut, even with it disabled it will still intermittently affect operation in some annoying ways.
