Limited slip/posi?
Okay, since My 1995 ezgo rear end will not accept the Plowman's posi and guys are recommending not to weld the spider gears, what other options do I have? Ezgo makes a limited slip unit https://ezgolfcart.com/i-5921837-lim...z-go-elec.html , but the listing says fits 1997-2009.
Limited Slip Differential TXT Fits TXT Electric Fleet/PDS units built from 1997-2009 with 73500G01 Axles and MPT 100101E units with 74612G01 Axle Does anyone know if this would actually work in my rear end housing and if not, why? |

Re: Limited slip/posi?
If one had access to a drill and mill it would pay themself
to take apart and measure the block and double spring system needed to make a limited slip kit for the older dana spicer diffs. or are those the Fuji ME 29's ? Maybe even an after market business from it. |

Re: Limited slip/posi?
You can see how much bigger the limited slip unit is compared to the earlier ones. That's obviously why the standard plates and springs will not fit.

Re: Limited slip/posi?
If you go to the textron site and look at fitment the years bounce around but 1995 is not included and they skipped mine (2016).

Re: Limited slip/posi?
Well, I know why the Plowman's posi and the posi traction control systems will not work, the carrier on the earlier carts are too small to accept them. My question is why the limited slip carrier (614756) will not fit in the earlier rear end housings? Looking at the pic I posted, the ring gears and bearings look the same and the width of the carrier looks the same. I'm just not sure if there is something different with the axle splines.

Re: Limited slip/posi?
I put a posi from a Rxv in my marathon axle, it dropped right in perfect. I have also used those in Yamaha Dana axles, both gas and electric.

Re: Limited slip/posi?
That's good to hear. I think I'm going to get a limited slip unit and give it a try. I'll post my findings when and if I get one. If I do get one, I'll look at my original carrier to see about making something that would work to make it a posi.

Can't be that far off on the dimensions.
Just calipers and transfering measurements to new stock. Whittle away. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk |
