Broken Motor Stud
Being my rookie self and attempting to change my cables I twisted one of the terminals on the motor. Not completely off but the wires inside are somewhat shredded now and cause sparks when there is current going to the motor. It's my 79 3 wheeler original motor. It is one of the old style vertical motors that sits front to back in the golf cart not left to right.
My question is could an electric motor shop repair it? While I'm at it i wanted to get it rewound also while it's off the cart. Or am i pretty much looking at buying a new motor? |

Re: Broken Motor Stud
You can take it to a motor or alternator shop and they can fix it, which would be your cheapest option. Check brushes while you're at it. Merely rewinding it won't really do anything, unless you send it to a specialty shop that can rewind it for performance. You can also consider buying a new motor, and they may take your old one for a core.
