Voltage reducer and adding lights
Morning all,
I just ordered a 12v reducer from a site sponsor so I can add some lights. My cart is used on land on the river and surrounding roads in the country. The lights won't be used a lot on road except maybe a drive to look at deer or whatever. Maybe drive down to check on brisket. I really like the idea of the Madjax or other brand halogen light bar and LED tail lights. I don't a need full street legal kit. Most kits have the LED bar with turn signals built in and are quite a bit more expensive. Is this something some of ya'll use? Also I like the idea of not having to cut out both front and rear of the body. Maybe someone could give me an idea on how much light the halogen puts out. I realize it will use more power than the LED bars. A pic of this setup would be really nice. Thanks, Virgil |

Re: Voltage reducer and adding lights
Golf Cart King (perhaps other sponsors IDK) has LED light bars for under $50.
As you noted the halogen uses more power. I would use LED. |

Aux beam 20 inch LED bar from Amazon is all you need. Buy a remote control harness if you want easy wiring. If wiring a switch is no problem you can buy one of those instead. LED headlights (or at least mine) put out just enough light to drive by but don't really light up the road much.

I put a couple round 27 watt each led cheapos from
fleabay on my stainless steel brush guard as fog lights, fused to toggle switch on dash, pretty good output. I ordered 4 lights @ $5.62 each, free shipping and the other 2 made reverse lights. I too also bought the AuxBeam light bar from Amazon, just haven't mounted it yet. |

Re: Voltage reducer and adding lights
DrLove38,
You will get much more performance from led and less battery drain than halogen lights. As far as the rear, just some red led surface mounts that have no brake light function, or did you want the brake light/turn signal function ? |

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I need to check out an led bar though. |
