Default Re: SR 48500 Question

No. I was going to trash it, but decided to rescue it from trash day. Last time I tried it, it ran great to the lake and back, around 1/2 mile round trip. The next day, undertemp error, minus 25°C. Since it ran great when it ran, I was hoping I could simply replace the temp sensor with another one, or even a resistor, as it never tripped on overtemp. Dang thing is potted. I've successfully removed asphalt type potting on other devices, but this stuff looks different.

Even if I clean it up, there's no guarantee it's the temp sensor. It could be the circuit that translates temperature input into corrective action output.

I already have one offer, who gets first dibs if I decide to sell it. It's unlikely to be run at -25°C, even in a Polar Vortex, as it's just too darn cold to go driving

Fair enough. I have a second project cart I am about to get into and it's going to need a high amperage controller. I've been keeping my eyes open for a good used one, but from the looks of things I will eventually have to break down and get a new one.

I also tried to find a good used Alltrax 500 amp series controller, but struck out. My AXE would leave you stranded. Last time it stranded me, I had to kick the wife out of bed at 1:00 am to tow me home.
