Default Yet another battery guestion

So I have a 1012 TXT 48 volt I’m getting ready to replace my worn Trojan batteries out.
Since I only use cart a few times a year on camping trips, my first trip being end of April where it will get used, discharchged than charged repeatedly. I plan to put in new batteries in now. Keep in mind cart will really not be driven around till then since I can’t buzz around streets here legally till camping trip where batteries get discharged then charged..
Any harm in buying batteries now, charging and keeping them charged even know I really can’t drive cart and discharge them under load to 80% then recharge sitting in garage? Should I wait till just before camping trip where batteries will be drawn down, then recharge to give them proper break in?
Opinions welcome.
Thanks 😊

I don't see why it would hurt to put them in now and keep them charged.

Wow. That cart's over a thousand years old!

I'd think you'd be better able to break in the batteries correctly at home. Make sure to charge it right after use, and check electrolyte levels and check cables for heat after each use. Using a torque wrench that does in-lbs is best, but most folks just use a nut driver, not a wrench.

According to Trojan new batteries won’t reach peak performance until 50+/_ Charge and discharges so your gonna hurt a thing

Whoops meant 2012😁
More worried about just maintaining charge on new batteries opposed to cycling right away and that effecting battery life.
My understanding is it won’t.

Thanks for the comments guys. Pretty sure I would’nt hurt batteries if buying now and then not using”putting real world load on them” till April, but just wanted to know if any negagatives about doing it. Batteries will stay charged and maintained when not in use.

Trust me wish I had more time to use cart but since it’s limited to vacation camping trips, may take me 2 years to get 30-50 battery charge cycles thru them.
Guess I would be defined as an occasional user lol 😊
