rear end oil change ??????

I am upgrading to a Plum Quick bandit motor. I saw on their web site they say: To maximize performance replace rear end fluid with high grade synthetic motor oil. 5-30

Is this right????? I thought it would be some kind of rear oil 80 -90 weight.

I use synthetic 80-90w gear oil with good success.
