Re: Ezgo TXT48 - A build thread
I've been saving this FSIP 48v torque for this cart. I have been running 2 versions of the speed motor in a TXT48 and a Precedent for 2 years with very good results. One of the speed motors was the original motor I sent to Alltrax so they could write the original maps for XCT. The failure rate on these motors has been very low, even for you guys !
This cart came to me without a motor or batteries. So I had to extend the speed sensor wires beyond the wire harness connector about 18 inches. Connection was simple; red to red, black to black, and 2 odd colors together. I chose to solder using flux, heat shrink, and a plastic jacket to prevent any failure or rodent interest... |

Re: Ezgo TXT48 - A build thread
This morning I installed the motor. I put a liberal coat of anti-seize paste on the splined shaft and used a mechanical assistant to lower the motor into the cart after removing the bag holder and basket... which won't go back on. The motor field wire terminals F1 and F2 needed to be enlarged to fit the larger FSIP bolts.
And all the wires and cables were secured to their terminals using a 1/4 drive ratchet - no gorilla torque needed on any of these electrical connections. |

Re: Ezgo TXT48 - A build thread
One last task to complete the morning project. I removed the wheel to access the speed magnet location. Be safe - when you pull a wheel off a cart shove it under the cart before you stick any part of yourself under it. Okay - speed sensor installed... Now I install the FN2 and dial in speed and regen on the fly.

Re: Ezgo TXT48 - A build thread
Well it is getting close to a test drive. I need to charge up my new batteries and recheck all my wiring and make sure I tightened all my connections.
If that all looks good I will test forward and reverse on a jack. If it looks safe I'll lower it to the deck and climb aboard... not without the dog, I'm sure |

Re: Ezgo TXT48 - A build thread
Nice writeup! Looks like the dog is ready for a ride...
Is that FSIP motor longer than the stock TXT48? It looks quite long, but it's been a while since I took a glance at my TXT48 motor. |

Re: Ezgo TXT48 - A build thread
You know it might be. It looked a bit long when I was snaking it in there.
I don't have a stock motor here. Can you throw a tape on yours and I measure this one? On a side note - I haven't even got a ride in it yet Too busy at work |

Re: Ezgo TXT48 - A build thread
You are going to like that motor. I have the "green" version of that motor in my cart. Different controller though. Doesn't quit going up hills and really nice for the crazy ATV trails that I run.
Manual for what I suspect (with credit to JohnnieB) is the same motor but in green on this thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ml#post1609186 If suspicions are correct (and I think they are) and my motor is the same as the FSIP Torquee then the lengths are 273.5mm to 285mm. Quote:
The length not including the speed sensor is 273.5mm, which equals 10.77" I don't have the length of a stock TXT-48 motor (yet), but a stock PDS motor is 8.5". My D&D ES-76-51 is 9.74" (Stock speed with 30% more torque) A D&D ES-69-43 is 10.5" (40% more torque - slower than stock) |
