Default 2015 EZGO TXT 48 - Project Facelift

Two months ago I purchased a new home near my kids schools. To my surprise the previous owner left behind the white EZGO TXT 48 in the picture below. Nothing like a free golf cart. However, it was stock and limited to 16MPH with a rough ride due to the low profile tires; that had to change. Since it was free, I get far less complaints from the wife about putting money in to it :)

Thanks to Scottyb for the controller and motor recommendation and very affordable pricing!

Before:

Controller, Cables, Solenoid and FN-key from ScottyB

RHOX 7" A-Arm Lift Kit (Don't install while wearing sandals. I will spare you the blood image from when I dropped it of the jack on to my big toe.)

23 Inch Tired to fit on existing rims.

Lift kit installed and Tires mounted.

DoubleTake Titan Body Installed

DoubleTake Seats and Tinted Windshield Installed

Now to worry if it will make it out the garage with enough clearance!!

Just barely made it!!

Final images:

The side is much smoother now and topping out at 27.5 MPH with the stock motor.

Installed items:
Alltrax 400 Controller, 2G Cables, Solenoid, 23 inch Wheels, DoubleTake Titan Body, DoubleTake Seats, DoubleTake Tinted Windshield, Rear Cup Holders, Side Mirrors, Stainless Steal Steering Wheel Column, Steering Wheel, Polk Audio Marine Speaker Pods and most importantly front and rear seatbelts.

Next Steps:

Install the new FSIP Speed Motor when it arrives.
Awaiting arrival of the Nissan Leaf 14 Cells and BMS to replace the Lead-Acid batteries. Thanks to the extremely detailed DIY guide on this site.

Thank you all for your posts and detailed documentation.

Here's the final wiring diagram Pingeye3 came up with for my 14 module pack.

What speaker / deck combo did you decide on? How's the low/mid range?Jeff Caldwell - EZGO RXV - Lithium Conversion.pdf

Sweet !! Check to travel of your garage door and make sure it is opening all the way. With it open pull the release and see if it will open any farther. If so you can adjust the opener travel to give you a little more room.

I was able to get 7-1/2' clear on all of mine, with minor tweaking. Easy on Overhead Door openers.
