Question EZGO Motor on Club Car DS?

I know that the tooth count is different, but on the outside this motor looks identical to the one in my CC DS ...except it is on this EZGO transaxle. Is it possible to swap out the gears and use this on a DS?

Its 3.5hp & 3000rpm and would be a decent upgrade & christmas present for my dads DS. His current series motor is only 2.5hp & 2800rpm. Are the shaft sizes between the EZGO motor and ClubCar motor the same? Has anyone ever attempted this before? My Buggies Gone Wild & google searches didn't turn up anything, not even anyone else asking this question!

I think it would be easier to buy an EZGO transaxle that the motor would bolt up to and throw that in the DS

IDK, would need to relocate leaf spring mounts, and adapt the brake cable to the EZGO setup.

Why do you say that, are the splined shafts on the motors not easily removed?

The shaft is part of the entire armature assembly. I'd rather adapt an EZGO transaxle or send the motor off to PQ for a bandit rebuild
