finally got a new switch and installed it. If i press the pedal it will most likely bend the arm on the switch backwards and ruin it. thats what happened last time.

That rod is either bent, or mis-aligned. I've never had to fool with how those are mounted.....but if I were you I would look at how the ITS plunger is mounted first to see if something is loose, or missing before just bending the shaft.....unless it's obvious the shaft is bent. But that shaft should be right in line with the "receiver" for lack of a better word. DON'T press it as it is....because the microswitch will simply break. Here's the schematic:

Adjust the plunger so that it don't go too far back. You should be fine as long as it don't enter the ITS.

The roller on the microswitch lever-arm should never be on the ITS sensor side of the collar.

Here is a picture of where the roller is when the pedal is up. (And if it was my pedal box shown in the attached picture, I would adjust the collar a bit further towards the ITS sensor so the roller was on the flat part of the collar.)

Just a few observations, but in looking at your pic right in front of your ITS there appears to be the nut that holds down the ITS (you know....keeps the ITS in place) ....well that nut appears to be MIA....or missing altogether. I'm pretty sure that's what keeps the ITS in line with the plunger. So, that may be the answer as to why your plunger and ITS do not align.

In addition, why do you have all of that crud in your ITS box? The ITS box's are sealed and when you open them there should be very little, if any outside "stuff" in them. The appearance of all the crud you have in there is likely because you don't have that missing nut not only holding the ITS in place.....but holding the box in place.

Get a small vacuum and pull all of that crap outta there, plus find bolts that will work and seal the ITS box before you attempt to move forward with this. Either that or just know you will be posting back here in a few months with more "unexplained" ITS issues.

Is the pedal switch bolted on upside down? I haven't replaced mine in a month or so, but I thought the roller arm pointed in the opposite direction.

In comparing his pic to the one JohnnieB posted, everything appears "pointed" in the right direction. I just think his ITS box is not secure. Along with the ITS unit itself.
