92 yamaha engine worth ??

Hey guys im looking to sell my 92 yamaha G8 engine might need carb adjusted what should i ask for it ?

Only the engine? Or are you including anything with it? i.e. clutch, exhaust, S/G, etc?

I'd say at least $500 if not more.

There's a local guy here that sells completely rebuilt engines for $750. All that includes is the engine itself and you have to give him back a core. I have no idea if he actually sells any of his engines but I have to assume that he does cause he advertises constantly on Craigslist. I personally think that's high considering I could rebuild my engine for less than half of that with aftermarket parts. He's an authorized Yamaha dealer so he uses all genuine Yamaha parts.

I'm guessing your engine plus all other components are used but in good working order; it's really up to you as to how much you want to get for it.
