Default Changing out charger plug

Picked up a Club Car 48V PowerDrive charger today. Model 17930. Any reason I cant put on a PowerWise plug and use it in my current receptacle. Other than my cart is 36v right now. HA. So when I get my controller and 2 more batteries any reason I cant just change the plug to make it work?

EDIT-

Looking that the plug on the new charger it has 3 prongs.

Clubcar charger is not going to work at all on your ezgo. The reason is that ezgo chargers have the charger control hardware (tells it to turn on, tells it proper time to shut off) inside the charger. The clubcar houses that hardware on the cart. The clubcar charger does not have the control hardware inside the charger (its essentially only a power supply for the charging system housed on the cart). Hope the clubcar charger was free, so you can sell it for $ to put towards a proper charger for a ezgo.

Found out on another site that the 3rd wire is some type of sensor that club car has on it. It can be bypassed if the wire is connected to the negative.

Please READ above carefully....Im not telling you this to sell a charger. If you rig the clubcar charger to turn on, it will be on any time the charger is plugged in to the wall. It will never shut off, it will ruin your batteries. A clubcar 48v charger will NEVER work correctly/safely on a ezgo. The clubcar charger has no control circuitry to shut off when batteries are full, it will overcharge them every time its used (and if left unattended too long, could burn your house down).

Didnt see your post above mine when I posted. What a bummer...it wasnt free.

Is the charging hardware easy enough to come by and install or is there more to it than that?

It might be possible to mount Obc (clubcar onboard charge computer) on charger, instead of cart. But there will be significant technical problems, the Obc does not reset to allow another charge cycle to start until the cart has been driven since the last charge cycle (which is detected by the "main negative battery cable", which is run directly through the Obc, that is now on the charger, instead of the cart). Clubcar's charge theory is "count how much energy went out during use since the last charge cycle, add power back into the batteries to equal that amount of power + losses in charging efficency". The idea of moving the Obc to the charger is incompatible with the theory used by the Obc designers in the clubcar charging system. I would start looking for different charger.
