Default speed gears

Have a 97 dcs,48v,400 amp alltrax,48v sol. Running 25mph.What can I expect with 6-1 or 8-1 speed gears. My neighbor just passed me, can`t have that!!!!, LOL I know I will loss torque, but couldn`t I bump up the adjustable throttle on alltrax. Its set low for a smooth takeoff(wife) Oh also stock tires..

I would hold off with the gears for now. Your stock motor is already maxed out, and adding gears may push it over the edge. I would be looking at a motor next.

You will likely need an upgraded motor but probably not a high speed motor specifically. Some reading for you here...
