Default G1 gas air leak?

Hi all I have a yamaha g1 golf cart . I reciveD it for free from a friend. I checked for fuel spark compression as soon as I got it and all 3 were good. It started right up( no belt on the clutch ) but as soon as you tap the pedal just enough to engage starter it revs to the moon ensured throttle blade was closed while watching it and it is closed and it is. It's pulling air from some where. Can anyone steer me in the right place thanks much

Check throttle blade set screw. Should only keep throttle blade from digging into carb body, not hold throttle open at all. This carb is a little different than yours, but the principle is the same. If this gets you nowhere, might also be crank seals...
