Default Diode direction

Hey guys, I need a little help. What direction does my diode need to go? Does the colors tell me?

From the picture, that doesn't look like a diode. It looks like a pre-charge resistor. If so, it doesn't matter which way it goes.

Arc surprising diode on the small terminals on the solenoid ,
White band to the + (pos) side

David, you are right it is a resistor asm. Shows you my inexperience. Do I need a diode too? Here are a couple pictures of my solenoid.

You don't need the diode for the OEM solenoid as shown in your photos.

But you do need to heed the polarity indicated by the red + mark next to one of the small spade terminals because the one way diode is built in.

scottyb...I'm pretty new to this and for some reason can't sent PM to you. Don't mean to interrupt on discussion (sorry Cherig), but hoping to get your feedback on my post from yesterday reference issue I'm having with cart. You seem to be one of the gurus on this site. Thx, bdlebo

The blades are two different sizes. Even a caveman could do it.
