Went too fast over speed bump and cart stop running
Hello -
I have a street legal golf cart and last night I got caught in a bad rainstorm on the way home. In the process, I went a little too fast over a speed bump and my cart died on me right after I hit the bump. All of my 12v accessories work fine. I'm an amateur when it comes to electrical work, but seems that I have power from the batteries and also from the ignition wires when I tested with my volt meter. I also can't see any loose wires. Can someone please help me in troubleshooting? It would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Went too fast over speed bump and cart stop running
Going over a bump and then dying would point to a loose connection somewhere. You need to make sure both the main solenoid and the FNR contactor are getting power when the pedal is pushed and that the controller is powering up(solid green light after 4 flashes). If so I would start chasing the heavy high current wires for a loose connection. Hopefully the rear end is on jack stands so it doesn't run over someone when it does take off.

Re: Went too fast over speed bump and cart stop running
I figured I had a loose wire somewhere, but looked all around and couldn't find anything. Sure enough it was a wire connected to the solenoid hidden at the bottom corner and barely accessible. Wish I soldered and heat shrinked all the wires when I put together. Anyhow I appreciate your help!
