Default Got wet now it just hops.

So I have an Alltrax 600 amp controller with 400 amp solenoid on an EZGO TXT 48v cart. It got muddy, I sprayed it off and now when I push the throttle, it just makes these little hops (slightly studders forward or backward) and then gives an undervoltage error. I hooked it up to the Alltrax program and the throttle is working correctly. I don't hear the solenoid making the click but it seems dry. Its connections were wet. The batteries read 50.2 volts. The other side of the solenoid reads a little less.

Any ideas on where I need to look?

Try to get a voltage reading on the controller side of the solenoid when you press the pedal. Sounds like the solenoid is not closing to me.

It dances around 40-44 volts when the throttle is pressed.

That's a little low for 48 volts, but it still should move at that voltage.

If your getting an under voltage code, you may want to check the Alltrax program to see when the under voltage setting is set to, and also make sure the batteries are fully charged.

Fully charged. It's set to 33v in the program. I don't hear a click from the solenoid. Both small terminals read 52 volts with a voltmeter. I'm connecting the ground to the battery and the red to the small terminals. The small terminal on the controller side drops to zero when the throttle is applied. After messing with it for a while, the solenoid is really hot. Not sure what all that means.

It sounds like the solenoid is not closing. If you can jump the two large post on the solenoid with a fairly heavy wire and see if the cart will move when press the pedal. If it does that will confirm a bad solenoid.

YEP! When I jump it, it works. I'm a surprised that a little water killed the solenoid. Will it dry out and work? I realize you might not have ESP or ESPN. LOL!

It might. Hair dryers work wonders on wet carts!
