Default 1994 EZGO..Marathon or Metalist

Just got a Ezgo 1994...I'm confused as to what model it is and the acronyms for what electrical system I have...Its 36 volts..6 batteries..Batteries are new..but speed seems a little slow?

Scotty B,
I am new to the carts but couldn't it be either. I found this while researching my two carts.

E-Z-GO Medalist with factory top and one-piece seat back.
The Medalist model was the successor to the boxy "X Car", or Marathon, as many people called it. In 1994 both the Medalist and the 'X-Car' models, in both gas and electric versions, were produced for sale. If your car is made in 1994 it could be either model. Please read the following descriptions carefully to determine which you have.

The Medalist was the first departure from the old look and frame that had been around forever. It had an entirely different, robot welded frame and a new rounded body style. The metal body was offered in many different colors. A new headlight bar that fit under the front cowl was standard equipment on the Freedom model Medalist cars.

The factory top has handles built right into it, just above the riders heads. A one piece seatback assembly replaced the older two seatback arrangement. The dash compartment was made significantly smaller. Very few body parts interchange with the older 'X-Car'.

The drive train and brakes of the the gas & electric cars did not change much but almost everything else did.

Mid 94 model year switched to Medalist. Easiest way to tell the difference is the battery bay. 6 in middle = Medalist. 2 sets of 3 on either side = Marathon.

If you can post pics it would be easier to tell you. I had a 94 Marathon. However, PGGROVES said that mid year EZGO switched to the Medalist. Follow what he says as well, he knows his stuff.

Remember.

Thanks. The White cart is a "poser",its' a 85' Marathon with a TXT body.I'm a fabricator so i built everything on it.Look at my info for pics and specs. The blue cart is Dad's toy.Had a straight pipe on it till last month(sounded like a Sportster runnin thru the woods!).We had to muffle it to take it to Fall-Carlisle.

Glad you found the answer. Are these batteries old? 9 holes seems a little low.
