Re: electric to gas conversion?
BTDT on the underpowered gas engine... don't waste your time, you will regret it. I had a neighbor that INSISTED he could install a 6 HP motor in his E-Z-GO and it would work fine...... almost 100 man hours later, he got it installed and discovered that I wasn't lying when I told him the cart wouldn't move with that little of a motor......

Re: electric to gas conversion?
Is the stock 2 stroke engines about 9 HP?? They are gutless, I would channel my efforts to something bigger, that's only my 2 cents, you can build what you want, just build, it keeps us all interested.

Re: electric to gas conversion?
Well it's just something to do. My point is everyone basically says it's impossible to make a gas engine work in an electric cart, but it CAN be done and it's less expensive than everyone makes it out to be. The cart was free and all the electronics were bad, and it was headed to the dump, so I dont have a lot of time or money involved. $129 for motor, $70 for sprokets and chain, $70 for steel and exhaust materials.

Re: electric to gas conversion?
Do you have to lift the seat to pull the starter rope?

Re: electric to gas conversion?
I cut and reinforced an opening big enough to get to the rope, plus i thought it would help with engine cooling. The body was trashed anyway. Fiberglass is all busted up from being beat around on a farm and through the woods during drunken adventures. OR MAYBE THATS MISADVENTURES!!!

Re: electric to gas conversion?
Yeah, as soon as the weather clears and I can get out and take some I will. Been raining for 3 days. Not sure how to post them on here, but I'll figure it out.
