I've never had the need or opportunity to design or build one, so I'm not up to speed on the specific solenoids used, but welded contacts or any control circuit fault that allowed both F and R current paths to be completed at same time, would definitely cause some spitzen und sparkin. If I did design one, I'd probably go with a single heavy duty DPDT solenoid, arc suppress the contacts and delay the closure of the main contactor until after the F/R solenoid was closed to avoid any contact bounce issues. |
