Question

On my Forward And Reverse Switch The 4 Posts Where the 4 Wires Go to, (A,B,C,D) On the Top Post (A) The wire bolts down between the 2 Nuts nice and tight and I Cant move it with my hand, But yesterday I was checking to see how tight it was and When I when I went to tighten the outside nut holding the wire tight to the inside nut it moves the Whole entire wire (does require a LITTLE amount of force. So the Wire is Tightly shushed together between the 2 nuts But the first nut holding the Lug in place is a tiny bit loose. All the other ones are fine but the top one.

1. The top wire is not getting hot and it runs fine but could this be Hurting anything?

Also, While i'm here I should just ask now...

2.(If) it is OK to run it like that Could the 2 Nuts be holding the wire together anywhere on the Lug not tight to the F&R Switches metal body Hurt anything? (just curious).

The first nut holds the terminal lug in the housing. and second nut holds the cable on the threaded end. The tension on the first nut can effect the position of the rotary contact (we will call this the lug end). Too tight and the lug can be sucked down into the housing, reducing the tension on the rotary cam contact.
Any change in the position or attitude of the lug/stud should lead you to check for heat damage. A hot copper lug will sink in the housing and may appear loose when it cools...
I would tighten it up until it is just snug and check your F&R contact continuity.
If its good ~ re check it in a week or 2 to see that it is not changing.

This is pretty much what Scottyb is talking about. But this is the D post. Caused all kinds on problems with my cart. Get a new FNR.

Ok, Everything is nice and tight. I drove it for about 2 hours straight it ran perfect and nothing is hot.
