Default Melted Forward Reverse Contact Board

Melted the contact board housing of my forward reverse switch, see pictures. Is the cam buss heavy duty since it made of copper and twice the thickness of a penny?

If it is HD any idea why this happened?

What is the best way to fix? Buy an entire new FR switch from Scotty or just buy a new contact board?

I recognize that switch, not as HD as mine... I would have to know what the rest of your drive system consists of to answer the question.
What voltage are you running?

It is 36v, Alltrax NPX controller, 4ga wires.

I purchased the cart with the mods already made. Batteries were poor, would only go about 1/2 mile on fairly level ground. Had no problems with the FR switch heating up with the old batteries.

Got new batteries. I was only on the 3rd break in charge. Really was impressed with the new batteries then the switch melted while running up some steep hills.

The new batteries provided more amperage. More amperage can potentially mean more heat if there is resistance... The lugs in the housing look sunken like they got hot. this can be caused by a loose connection or any restriction in the flow. Small cables or dirty connections can be the culprit.
Or sometimes just asking too much of the system. I have seen stock carts burn up F&Rs just because they work on a hill every day....
